About Us

Dr. Richard Dickinson and Dr. Grace Dickinson Branon represent a proud family tradition in dentistry. They are the second and third generation following Dr. Dickinson’s father and brother in the field. Following in his father and sister’s footsteps, Richard Dickinson, Jr. will graduate in 2009 from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine.

Dr. Richard Dickinson started his dental practice in St. Albans in 1973 after graduating from Georgetown University School of Dentistry in Washington, DC. He raised his family here and has provided the Franklin County area with excellent dental care and has worked to serve his community.

He has participated in a fellowship in Oral Cancer at Memorial Sloan Kettering Medical Center in New York City. He has also completed courses at the Dawson Institute of Occlusal Studies, the Boston University Schilder Course on Endodontics, and the Society of Occlusal Studies. Dr. Dickinson has also served the Vermont dental community as president of the Vermont State Dental Society, as chair of the Continuing Education Committee, as a member of the Northeast Regional Board of Dental Examiners, and the Vermont State Board of Dental Examiners (chair of this board in 2007).

He has served the local community as chairman of the St. Albans City Recreation Commission, as president of Hardack Outing Club, as a member of the Northwestern Medical Center’s Board of Directors, and has been on the Jay Peak Ski Patrol for over 25 years.

Dr. Grace Dickinson Branon
Dr. Grace Dickinson Branon grew up in St. Albans and graduated from Bellows Free Academy and the University of Vermont, with a double major in animal science and biological sciences. She earned her dental degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, where upon graduation; she was awarded the prestigious Alumni Clinical Excellence Award. She returned to St. Albans to join her father Dr. Richard Dickinson in practice.

She has pursued continuing education at Tufts University and the Dawson Institute for Occlusal Studies.

She is active in the local community with St. Albans Rotary, the Run Girls Run program through “Open Doors” in the elementary schools. She has donated athletic mouth guards for several Bellows Free Academy sports teams, and speaks regularly before local classrooms regarding oral health, diet and nutrition. She has been awarded a grant for the Fairfield Elementary School for oral health awareness and education throughout the school year. She is also an active member of the Vermont State Dental Society.

Over the past 30 years, the Dickinsons have been very generous supporters of community activities, such as the Fairfield Food Shelf and the Fairfield Community Center.
